Yoga in Schools
EAST WEST YOGA Brings Weekly Yoga to Hundreds of Kids in Schools
Providing yoga within the school curriculum or as an after-school activity is an effective and easy way to help students improve stress, emotion management and concentration skills.

For this reason, EAST WEST YOGA is teaching yoga to hundreds of children at school every week!

Children Yoga is mostly proposed as an after-school activity, to over 10 international and local schools in Singapore, from pre-schools to secondary schools. Students sign up per term, i.e. for about 8-10 classes in a row.

Sessions can range from 45 to 90 minutes and are conducted in assemblies, halls, gyms or empty classrooms by energetic, passionate and specialised Kids Yoga coaches. Classes are engaging, inclusive, non-competitive, safe and fun!

What is kids yoga?
4 to 8 YEARS OLD

Kids yoga is a fun, dynamic practice designed to nurture children’s physical, emotional, and mental growth. Through playful yoga poses and calming breathing exercises, kids improve strength, flexibility, balance, and focus, all while learning to manage their emotions.

Each class is filled with creative activities, such as story-based movements, dance, and group games that promote teamwork and concentration. Kids work together in team-building exercises that encourage cooperation and social skills while also learning how to focus and stay present. Sensory elements, like scarves, feathers, and music, engage their imagination, and guided visualizations help them explore their inner world.

Children also get the chance to express their creativity through "yogart," making crafts like origami, mandalas, or drawings, blending relaxation with art. At the end of every session, a peaceful relaxation time allows them to wind down, leaving class feeling calm, joyful, and centered.

This practice not only supports physical development but also encourages self-awareness, boosts confidence, and teaches valuable life skills like teamwork and focus—all in a fun and engaging way!

Pre-teen yoga is an engaging and empowering practice designed to help kids navigate their transformative years with confidence, focus, and resilience. Each class combines advanced yoga poses to build strength, flexibility, and balance with calming breathing techniques and mindfulness practices to manage emotions and stress.

The classes incorporate dynamic movements, partner activities, and team-building games to foster cooperation and self-expression. Creative elements like reflective journaling, gratitude practices, and engaging crafts provide outlets for self-awareness and imagination. Each session often revolves around inspiring themes, such as nature or personal growth, to keep pre-teens motivated and connected.

Classes conclude with relaxation time to help pre-teens wind down and leave feeling grounded and recharged. This practice not only enhances physical abilities but also supports emotional development, self-esteem, and life skills, making it a fun and purposeful experience for personal growth.
What is teens yoga?
13 to 18 YEARS OLD

Teen yoga is a transformative journey designed to help teens discover their potential and overcome self-limiting beliefs. This practice provides a safe space where teens can develop self-love, self-acceptance, and resilience, learning to handle life's challenges with calm and balance.

Classes integrate dynamic yoga poses, advanced breathing exercises, and restorative techniques to enhance physical strength, flexibility, and posture while reducing anxiety. Teens engage in varied activities, including partner poses, mindfulness practices, and meditation, to foster self-awareness and build self-confidence.

Sessions include creative elements like journaling, expressive movements, and team-building games to keep the practice enjoyable and engaging.
